OUR STORY

Tacettin Şeker started his journey  working in a modest tailor shop in Istanbul in 1998 where he learned his craft of creating a custom suit and shirt. At the age of 26, he opened his Taji brand in Beyoglu, Istanbul, and he now employs 60 tailors and carries a well-worn passport, traveling endlessly between Istanbul and the rest of Europe and North America.

After opening the first retail location in Istanbul’s stylish Nişantaşı neighborhood in 2002, followed by a store in New York City, in 2006 Taji now has four different retail locations.

“Providing the best service comes first, the product always follows it. The most important thing in our business line; to do the best we can, to never compromise our quality standard and to provide excellent service. I don't say 'no' to any customer. I create the necessary conditions wherever and however possible!”

A FAMILY BUSINESS

The U.S. atelier, overseen by his nephews Fevzi and Talat Seker, can be found on New York’s Madison Avenue. Seker’s suits are cut in the Neapolitan tradition, using materials from Italy’s finest mills. The experience is truly bespoke, meaning each pattern is original and every aspect is a choice that takes into account a customer’s face, body and complexion. “This is my mirror, so what I sell reflects me,” he says. “It’s about responsibility.”

Suits require at least two fittings and eight to ten weeks to produce.
